Vampires

Vampire Diaries (series): The first few books were great, but the 4th and 5th start getting really weird. One through three get 4-stars. The next ones get 2-stars.

Stefan's Diaries (series): I've only read the first, and if you want to read these I reccomend you read the vampire diaries series first. I give it 3-stars. I expected it to be better, but it's started following the show rather than the original books.

Nitelight: This is a parody of twilight, and if you are a die-hard twilight fan, you'll just be pissed off. For those who don't like Twilight, I must warn you, it's VERY exagerated. I gave it 3-stars, because it was a good laugh.

Vampire Kisses: I've only read the first four books, but this is a very typical vampire-teen romance. Dejected goth girl find true love with a super old vampire and begs him to turn her. Don't expect to much with this book. It's extremely superficial. I give it 3-stars, because I've read much worse.

Got Fangs (the Ben and Fran): Another superficial vampire book except in this one Fran, the girl, has supernatural powers. I've only read the first book, but so far I give it 3-stars. The author, Katie Maxwell/MacAlister has much better books, and eventually evolves into more adult books.

Undead and Unemployed (Undead series) X: I've read the first two books of this series, and they are hysterical. They are more mature, and you have to be prepared for this more advanced genre. It is more graphic than Twilight, and is not acceptable for younger readers, but I give it 4-stars because it was just hysterical.

Blue Bloods: I really don't know what to do with this series. It started out really promising, but it's basically Gossip Girls with vampires. There's way too much drama, and all this random stuff keeps popping up. The series is also much too long. They have 5 books out plus a companion and a novella. It just isn't worth reading anymore. I give it 2-stars because it's just too much.

Bloodline: This is probably the first vampire book I ever read. It's a really interesting story, especially because it takes place during the first World War, and the title comes from lines to dracula. I give it 4-stars, because it had a great story, but the ending sucked.

Evernight: When I first read this I thought *SPOILER ALERT* Finally, a book where the girl is a vampire, and I will admit I LOVED the first book. It was great, but it just ended up dragging. The first one gets 4-stars, and the next 2 get 2-stars.

Thirst: Dear god, this book was horrible. If you get anything from this post, I want it to be DON'T READ THIS BOOK. I can deal with a certain amount of shallowness, but this just blows. "oh, the love of my life died. Well, just found the new love of my life." Serious boredom. It gets 1-star.

Twilight: Can I give a negative star rating? I'm sorry. I just can't deal with the Twilight mania. Half of the people that "love twilight so much" have never even read the book. Maybe it's the books, maybe it's the fans that piss me off, but I give it 1-star. That's it. I need a full post to describe my comtempt for Twilight so I'll do that later.

Vamps: This one is pretty similar to Blue Bloods, but without the historical back story. It's just all drama with these girls/guys. Everyone wants something that someone else has, and no one is ever happy. I've read the three books that are out now, and will probably read the next one, because I like it better than Blue Bloods. It's less complicated. I give it 3-stars.

Pretty Dead: This one was just like Thirst. Don't even bother. It's not worth it. The girl has the attention span of a carrot. I give it 1-star.

Dark ones X: This is a example of Katie Macalister/Maxwell's better books. Unfortunately I started on the fifth book, but it didn't matter. This is a series that they tie in together, but they're all diferent people with different stories. I loved the book I read, and give it 4-stars.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: I know I expressed my hatred of Twilight, but this book was different. It was short, sweet, and too the point. *SPOILER ALERT* Those who read Twilight, know she's going to die, but you can't help but hope. I give this one 4-stars.

Boys that Bite: I thought it was a pretty good book overall. It was pretty comical considering their situation. I give this book 4-stars, because it wasn't just the typical boy meets girl story.

Bitten and Smitten: Immortality bites seriesX: This book was pretty funny. It's part of a continuing series, and was pretty comical and I liked the heroine. She was funny, and tough without being vapid. I give this book 4-stars.

House of Night Series: This series is probably my guilty pleasure. I mock so many books for the things in this book, but for some reason I love this series. It's shallow, vapid, and the characters suck. The heroine (if you can call her that) is not in a love traingle, but instead a love octogon, and for some reason, I'm actually giving it 4-stars.

Succubus Blues (The Georgina Kincaid series)X: I love this series. The book has everything vampires, angels, gods, and of course succubus. I've read the first 2 books and they are great, I can't wait to read the third. I give this series 5-stars.

Almost to die for (vampire princess of St. Paul): This was short simple book about a girl whose half- witch, and half-vampire. She has never known her dead, and on her 16th birthday she leanrs her dad is a vampire king, and the reason her witch powers never work. I give this book 4-stars. It was great.

The mortal Instruments series: I love this series. It is one of those books that have everything, demons, guardians, vampires, and werewolves. It is a very urban book, and is a bit long, but it never drags. I give this series 5-stars.

Sucks to be me: The all-true confessions of Mina Hamilton, Teen Vampire: This is by far my favorite vampire book. I love her humor, and the choice she has to make. Become a vampire or stay human, besides the fact that her parents want her to become a vampire, like them. I give this book 5-stars.

Dead Until Dark:X I've only read the first book, and don't plan on reading the rest. I really didn't like this book. I give it 2-stars.

Night Road: I really liked this book. It was much more dark than some of the sappy vampire stuff. Except they don't call themself vampires. They're hemevores. They eat blood rather than meat, or vegetables. They also view it as a disease. I give this book 4-stars.

Morganville Vampires: In these books, the vampires are completely evil. None of them are good, and they're all about killing, and getting blood. When a new girl comes to town, she is at first oblivious to the vampires that surround her town, but as she learns more she realizes she needs to protect herself. I give these books 3-stars.

Uninvited: Amanda Marrone is by far the greatest paranormal romance author. I love how she starts out with the sappy drama that they all have, and then just crushes it. Uninvited is by far the greatest vampire book I have ever read. I love that she isn't the same as all the others. I give this book 5-stars.
